For those who want to garden without the dreaded aches and pains that follow!

Fed up of back and knees aching after gardening?

You’ll be taming your garden with more ease after this class!

Hi, I’m Jenna and I’ve been helping people who want to move well and feel more comfortable doing their everyday things (like gardening) for nearly 10 years.

I specialise in helping those with back pain, bone health issues and also modifications for the older person. The controlled movements and focus on core stability make Pilates an ideal complement to gardening!

Gardening has always been top of the list when I’ve chatted to people about their aches, pains and injuries so I designed this class to help with that!

My recent blog discussed pacing, planning, and viewing your gardening tasks as a workout… this class puts it into action!

I’m glad I decided to try your Garden class. It was a strong yet practical session and helped me maintain my back and hip. Your class provided pain ‘avoidance’ techniques perfect for gardening and daily life movements! Priti

The class made me think about warming up before gardening. The functional reaching exercises were great for things at ground level as I have raised beds and grow bags. Using a split stance and both hands for the watering can made a huge difference. Alison

The Pilates for Gardeners class emphasized warming up and body shape when doing tasks. Maintaining a flat back while gardening will be a big help. At 78, I want to continue gardening as long as possible. The advice given in the class and the exercises were so helpful I would readily do another class. Pat

I power washed the patio yesterday, I very consciously changed hands and set myself time targets for breaks. It worked. This morning, no aches or pains! Clare

Frequently Asked Questions:

You’ll need comfortable clothing, a mat, cushions, hand weights (or tins). You’ll need a stable internet connection and be happy using Zoom.

Yes, I’ll provide easy instructions and if you’re not sure we can try it out before the class if needed, so you can be confident of the set up.

While this class is specifically designed with gardeners in mind, it’ll still be a whole body workout, so I’m confident you’ll still get something out of it if you’re not a gardener!

The class will be Osteoporosis/Osteopenia friendly.  I am qualified to teach those with bone health conditions and the class will give you ideas to work more safely in your garden.

The class will involve getting down to the floor and being on hands and knees, however I’m very happy to modify things and offer alternatives where needed.

This is a special session, run ad hoc through the summer months.  However, I do offer a regular ‘Healthy Bones & Balance’ Pilates class, where we practice some elements of this particular class.

Please contact me for current pricing in Euros.

I teach online, so you can join from anywhere!  The class is live streamed, not recorded, so you have support and feedback in real time.

You’ll learn movements that help keep your joints functioning well, meaning less aches and pains. The awareness that you’ll take away from the class will help with gardening in the future. Find out more here.

I’d love to say a simple ‘Yes, it’s for everyone’, and quite possibly it will be a ‘yes’, however, I want you to feel confident with the class so it depends.  Perhaps best to get in touch and we can chat it over!
